Editorial Policy

1. How we choose what to cover

We cover expensive, hard-to-reverse purchases for small homes — the ones where the options look identical, the listing omits the number you need, and returning the thing means dismantling it first.

Topics come from what people are actually searching for, and from questions that existing coverage leaves unanswered.
We give priority to subjects where the available information comes almost entirely from companies selling the product.

2. What our recommendations are based on

• ·Manufacturer specifications, dimensions, and materials, read directly from the retailer listing and normalised so that competing products can actually be compared.
• ·Published measurements and third-party test data where it exists.
• ·Patterns across verified customer reviews and owner forums, weighted toward complaints that repeat across unrelated buyers.
• ·Design judgment from years of furniture and built-in storage work — applied to construction, mechanism, and proportion.
• ·Hands-on use, stated explicitly and only where it actually happened.

To be plain about the limits of this: we do not buy and assemble every product we write about, and we do not run a test lab.
Most of what we publish is specification analysis, owner-report synthesis, and informed judgment.
Where a recommendation rests on those rather than personal use, the article says so.
We would rather be useful and honest about our method than claim testing we did not do.

3. Independence

Recommendations are not for sale.
Commission rates play no part in ranking.
Brands do not see drafts.
When we cannot recommend anything in a category in good conscience, we say that instead of picking a winner.

4. Prices, stock, and corrections

• ·Prices and availability change constantly. We do not promise the price you see at the retailer matches what an article said when it was written.
• ·Posts are reviewed periodically and the update date is shown on each article.
• ·Factual errors are corrected in place, and material corrections are noted in the article.
